Your Privacy Rights & Opt-Out

How to remove or correct information about you, see what we hold, and exercise your rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and other privacy laws.

Last updated: October 16, 2026

1. Opt out of ProfileBolt

Anyone can ask us to remove information about them from ProfileBolt, free of charge and wherever they live. To opt out, use the removal request form or email privacy@profilebolt.com with your full name, the email address we should reply to, and any links to the pages or profiles concerned.

When we approve an opt-out request, we delete the stored research records about you that the request identifies. Because ProfileBolt retrieves public sources at the time of each search, information that remains published at its source may still be found in a new search; we recommend also asking the original website to remove it. Each item in a report links to its source.

2. Correction and access

You can ask us to correct information about you that is inaccurate, or to tell you what information about you is stored in ProfileBolt and give you a copy. Use the same form and choose “Correct information about me” or “Tell me what you hold about me”.

3. Rights for ProfileBolt users

If you have a ProfileBolt account, you can update your name and password on your account page, and delete research records you created from Saved profiles. To receive a copy of your account data, or to close your account and delete your organization’s data, email privacy@profilebolt.com from the email address on the account.

4. EEA, UK and Swiss residents

Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal information; to restrict its processing; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; to data portability; and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent. We respond within one month of receiving your request. For complex or numerous requests we may extend this by up to two further months; if so, we will tell you within the first month and explain why. You may also complain to your local data-protection supervisory authority or, in the UK, to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

5. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we have collected about them and how we use and disclose it; to access a copy; to delete it; to correct inaccurate information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.

Your privacy choices — Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. SmartApz does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. If you would still like to record an opt-out, use the form or email privacy@profilebolt.com; we also honour Global Privacy Control signals.

Response times: we confirm receipt of a request to know, delete or correct within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time (up to a further 45 days), we will tell you why. Opt-out requests are acted on as soon as possible and within 15 business days.

6. Residents of other U.S. states

Residents of states such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas and Oregon may have rights to confirm whether we process their personal information, to access, correct and delete it, to obtain a portable copy, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale and certain profiling. We do not engage in targeted advertising or sale, or in profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We respond within 45 days, which may be extended once by 45 days where reasonably necessary.

7. Residents of Israel

Under the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, you may review information about you held in our database and ask that it be corrected or deleted if it is inaccurate, incomplete, unclear or out of date. Email privacy@profilebolt.com.

8. How we verify requests

To protect people from fraudulent requests, we verify that a request comes from the person concerned. We will usually ask you to confirm control of the email address you gave us and may ask for information that helps us match you to the records concerned, such as links to your public profiles. We ask only for what we need, use it only to verify and process your request, and never require you to create an account. For access requests we may need a higher level of verification before releasing information.

Authorized agents and representatives. You may use an authorized agent, or a parent or legal guardian may act for a minor. We may ask the agent for proof of authorization and may ask you to confirm your identity directly.

9. Appeals

If we decline your request in whole or in part, we will explain why. You may appeal by replying to our decision or by emailing privacy@profilebolt.com with the subject “Appeal”. We respond to appeals within 45 days (60 days where state law allows) and will tell you how to contact your state attorney general or data-protection authority if you remain unsatisfied.

10. No fees and no discrimination

Making a privacy request is free. We may decline or charge a reasonable fee only for requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive, where the law allows. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised your privacy rights.
